We host regular entertainment events including Live Music on the first Saturday of the month, including some ticket only tribute acts.
We hold a regular Quiz Night with a difference, hosted by our very own Ginny Tonic.
We like to help support local charities by holding Fundraisers such as Drag Bingo – even the on occasion, odd Karaoke and Disco.

Join us on Sunday 27th July for another Charity Fundraiser.
This time we are raising funds for the Thaxted Fayre Trust
This is ‘Drag Bingo’, hosted by our very own Ginny Tonic.
So Eyes down on your game cards and get your dabbers ready for a night of laughs, songs, prizes and balls.
£20.00 per person (£10 deposit at booking – remainder on the night – cash preferred)

ABOUT THE CHARITY – THAXTED FAYRE TRUST
For over 30 years the Thaxted Fayre Trust has been bringing the community of Thaxted together through fund raising and entertaining events.
The Thaxted Fayre Trust is a registered charity set up back in 1986 by Barry Kauffman-Wright and then Swan Inn Pub Landlord, for the sole purpose of organising community events in order to raise funds for distribution via community grants, supporting local community based projects. For example in 2024 money raised was given to local organistations including Thaxted Guides and Beavers, Pams Place, Thaxted Tennis Club, Thaxted Festival, Vicarage Mead and Thaxted Morris Men to name a few.
The trustees and committee members of the charity are simply willing local volunteers from the Thaxted Community.
Their vision is to bring back the Thaxted Fayres of yesterday year and continue bringing the community together through fundraising whilst giving back to local projects.
After her amazing performance here last July, The Maypole is delighted to Welcome Back Anna Wells.
Anna Wells has a terrific voice, is a very talented key boards player and songwriter of no mean repute and an all around lovely person to have perform. You will hear her perform some of her own material and wide variety of covers guranteed to get the party going. Performing songs from the mid-twentieth century such as Elvis Presley and Patsy Cline to current mainstream popular music of Shakira and Ed Sheeran, Anna has defined herself as a versatile performer in many different capacities.
Having the experience of performing contrasting repertoires, Anna has established a strong and confident profile as a performer and a musician, with the ability to alter her programmes/setlists to cater for her audiences and interact with them, effectively.
Her infectious joy at playing and singing for a crowd gets your feet tapping and you wanting to join in. Which is why we all love music.
This Lady is so talented, don’t miss her amazing show.

Ginny Tonic
Our very own Ginny Tonic is the alter ego of landlord Vince. Ginny is a fabulous diva with her own style, with a bit of singing and a wicked sense of innuendo style humour. Ginny lives by the mantra that ‘Quiz Nights are Fun Nights’ and our quizzes certainly are fun and very popular. We hold around six quizzes a year.
